Privacy Policy
basecamp · Last updated August 2026
basecamp is a private, invite-only app for a single family. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What the app collects
- Your name and email address — used to create your account and to show who posted what.
- Photos, videos, comments, and captions you post — stored so other members of your group can see them.
- An account identifier — an internal ID that links your posts to your account.
- Your approximate location — used only to show local weather on the home screen. It is not stored as a history and is not shared with anyone.
- A notification token — a device identifier that allows the app to send you push notifications. Nothing else is read from your device.
What the app does not do
- There is no advertising in basecamp, and no data is shared with advertisers.
- Nothing is sold, rented, or given to data brokers.
- Your activity is not tracked across other apps or websites.
- There is no analytics product profiling your behavior.
Who can see what you post
Only the members of your invite-only group. basecamp has no public feed, no search, no discovery, and no way for a stranger to find you or your content. New members can only join using an invite code issued by a group administrator.
Where it is stored
Data is stored using Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications). Firebase acts as the service provider hosting the data and does not use it for its own purposes. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Children
basecamp is designed for families and children may use it under a parent or guardian's supervision. Children can only access the app if a parent or guardian invites them into a private group. No information is collected from a child beyond what is described above, and none of it is ever used for advertising or shared outside the group.
Deleting your data
You can delete any post or photo you have made from within the app at any time. To delete your account and everything associated with it, email the address below and it will be removed. Group administrators can also remove members and their content.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or how it is used, the app will be updated and the date at the top of this page will change.
